What really happens to your recycling?

About this event
This is an interactive community workshop designed to help residents understand how to recycle right under Ontario’s evolving system and why it matters. The objective is to build confidence in everyday recycling decisions while introducing the bigger picture of how materials move through the system, including the role of Circular Materials and the shift toward a more Circular Economy approach. The workshop is open to all residents, especially households, families, and anyone who wants clearer, simpler guidance on what goes where. The session will be hands-on and engaging, featuring a live sorting activity, myth-busting, and a guest speaker from a plastics reclaimer who will demonstrate how materials are processed and why proper recycling makes a real difference.
